At Aspen Dental, we offer 3 types of partials, all that use an acrylic base:

Keep your partial in tip top shape with these key steps:

  • Remove and rinse after eating to eliminate any food debris.​

  • Brush your partial every day with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive cleaner.​

  • Soak your partial in a provider-approved denture solution overnight.​

  • Schedule regular dental checkups to maintain your partial so it fits and functions comfortably.​

  • For your best long-term use, the ADA recommends getting your partial evaluated by a clinician for a replacement every 5-7 years.

When you first get your partial, it may take time to get used to the change in your smile. Here’s what to look out for:

  • Some sensitivity may occur as your mouth adjusts to your new partial.​

  • Your clasps or attachments can put stress on supporting teeth. If you experience any discomfort, your

  • local care team can make adjustments so you stay comfortable.​

  • If you have pre-existing cavities or gum recession, these may increase your sensitivity.

  • Lastly, an ill-fitting partial can cause irritation and may require adjustments to enhance your fit.

  • You may experience an adjustment period as your gums and mouth get used to your partial.

  • Start with soft foods and gradually introduce firmer textures.​
