Types of tooth extractions

Not every tooth extraction is the same. Aspen Dental has got you covered for all of them.

What affects the price of a tooth extraction?

The geographic location of your Aspen Dental office plays a role in determining the cost of a tooth extraction. Dental services in urban areas or regions with a higher cost of living typically charge more due to increased operational expenses.

The cost also depends on how many teeth need to be extracted. Multiple extractions can increase the complexity and length of the procedure, leading to higher costs.

Simple extractions are less costly compared to surgical extractions, which are necessary for impacted teeth or those below the gum line.

A dentist may perform general tooth extractions, however, if you need a more complex extraction, your dentist will recommend you see an oral surgeon for more severe cases, like a wisdom tooth removal, for example. Depending on whether you see a dentist or a specialist will be factored into the overall cost.

Depending on the complexity of the extraction and your personal pain tolerance, anesthesia or sedation may be offered or required, which can increase the cost of the procedure.

Your tooth extraction cost questions answered

When you're wrestling with ongoing tooth pain or tooth decay, the question of tooth extraction often comes up. It's the go-to solution when other treatments can't save the tooth. This common procedure helps fix problems with damaged or impacted teeth, offering relief and helping avoid more serious mouth troubles down the line.

The cost of a tooth extraction can vary widely depending on the complexity of the procedure and the type of insurance coverage you have. Generally, dental insurance can significantly reduce the out-of-pocket expenses, making the procedure more affordable. Have a chat with your insurance provider to get all the details on your coverage. At Aspen Dental, we work with most insurance.

It can vary, depending on whether it's an extraction or if it involves surgery for those tricky impacted teeth. Plus, prices can change depending on where you live and who's doing the procedure. If you've got insurance, that might cover part of the cost, but it's always a good idea to get a clear estimate upfront.

It can be more challenging to pull a broken tooth than removing a whole one. This is because the tooth is fractured, and it might take a bit more time and skill to get it out safely and smoothly. But, don't worry, Aspen Dental professionals have the right tools and know-how to manage these situations, making sure you're comfortable and well taken care of during your tooth extraction.

Absolutely, a dentist can take out an infected tooth. In fact, getting rid of an infected tooth is often needed to stop the infection from spreading to other parts of your mouth and body. The process includes the extraction and a thorough cleaning of the area to make sure all the infection is gone. After removing the tooth, your dentist will give you some tips on how to care for the area to help it heal smoothly. They'll also chat with you about replacement options like dental implants or bridges to get your smile back to looking and working great.
